Windows 10 Home is the standard edition of Windows 10 for personal PCs and laptops. It includes the familiar Start menu, Microsoft Defender security, virtual desktops and DirectX 12 gaming, and it runs on older hardware that cannot meet the Windows 11 requirements.

Who is this edition for?

Windows 10 Home suits home users whose PC lacks TPM 2.0 or a supported processor, or who depend on older apps and peripherals that work best on Windows 10. It does not include BitLocker, Remote Desktop hosting or domain join. For those, see Windows 10 Pro.

Support status you should know before buying

Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 on 14 October 2025, as listed on its product lifecycle pages. Windows 10 still installs, activates and runs, but it no longer receives free security updates. If your PC qualifies, Windows 11 Home is the better long-term purchase.

Frequently asked questions

Will a Windows 10 Home key activate Windows 10 Pro?

No. A key only activates the edition it was issued for. Check your installed edition under Settings > System > About before you buy.

Does it work with Windows 10 Home Single Language?

Not usually. Home Single Language is a separate edition that ships on some laptops, and a standard Home key is often rejected on it. If you are unsure which edition you have, contact us before ordering.

Does Windows 10 still work after end of support?

Yes. It runs normally. What has stopped is Microsoft's free security patches, bug fixes and technical support.
