Windows 10 Pro is the professional edition of Windows 10, with BitLocker drive encryption, Remote Desktop hosting, Hyper-V and the tools needed to join a company domain. It runs on a far wider range of hardware than Windows 11, including PCs without TPM 2.0.

Who is this edition for?

Windows 10 Pro makes sense when your hardware cannot run Windows 11, when you rely on older software or drivers certified for Windows 10, or when you need to match the other machines in an office.

Support status you should know before buying

Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 on 14 October 2025, as listed on its product lifecycle pages. Windows 10 still installs, activates and runs, but it no longer receives free security updates. If your PC meets the hardware requirements, Windows 11 Pro is the better long-term purchase.

Frequently asked questions

Can I upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Pro with this key?

Yes. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation > Change product key and enter the Pro key. The upgrade keeps your files and apps.

Does Windows 10 still work after end of support?

Yes. It runs normally. What has stopped is Microsoft's free security patches, bug fixes and technical support.

Why does my key show as invalid?

In most cases the installed edition does not match the key. A Pro key will not activate Windows 10 Home Single Language, Education or Enterprise. Check your edition under Settings > System > About before entering the key.
